Economic Terrorism in the Global Financial Crisis

It is unfortunate to note that advocacy industries on poverty have multiplied dramatically over decades while the world has witnessed a sharp increase in the depth, height, width and length of poverty. Political teachers of market economy, however, have not yet got exhausted of lying to people that they will become prosperous and happy overnight by wholeheartedly supporting and strengthening the concept of concentrating wealth and political power in a few hands. This means democracy—they think and say out.

The current global financial crisis has given tremendous opportunities to billionaires, who have succeeded in diverting institutional wealth—public properties indeed because they are the collection from people—to personal accounts. By utilizing the financial crisis, individuals or business promoters become richer while job-giving institutions dehydrate out.

During the financial crisis, suffering masses do not know if the ‘masters’ of multinational corporations have honestly used money from their personal accounts or safes to resuscitate their institutions instead of furthering pulverizing people. Massive job cuts in the USA indicate that the degree of social responsibility and business ethics has horribly descended in the democracy ambassador.

Experiences have proved that multibillionaires have their separate accounts and additional businesses from where they continue generating money. It is the working class who suffer the most from the financial crisis. However, political elites definitely fear it since it may aggravate conflicts threatening their ruling power.

The world has heard little about the existing ground realities, economic systems and serious criminalization of politics. Contrarily, the world has frequently heard about the job cuts, price hikes, monetary inflation and terrorism. It would be advisable that the global media also bring the issue of economic terrorism into public discourse. Aren’t economic terrorists a threat to human society? Don’t economic terrorists create wars? Isn’t conducting wars here and there and selling weapons and war accessories a sort of economic terrorism? Let the analysts and critics ponder over it.
