Education must for all round development: Peerzada

Addressing an annual Day function of  Luthra Academy  here today, the Minister called upon teaching community to work hard and impart quality and job oriented education to the students so that they could compete competitive examinations at country level.  

The Minister said that the private educational institution is also playing a pivotal role for imparting education to the students of the State and called upon private school managements to ensure free education to poor students in their institutions.

 He said the Centre is providing sufficient funds to the State for upgradation education facilities in the State. He said infrastructure upgradation and setting up of new educational institutions besides upgradation of existing one’s is on under centrally sponsored schemes like SSA and RMSA across the State.

 The Minister congratulated the meritorious students of Luthra Academy and said that talent is present among our students but need is to polish it.

On the occasion, the Minister distributed prizes among the students for their best performance in academic as well as other co-circular activities.

Earlier, a delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum, Jammu under the Chairmanship of  Abdul Qayoom Wani met the Minister and apprised him about their problems. These included enhancement in the honorarium of ReTs, inclusion of five years of ReTs for promotional benefits, confirmation of EVss after seven years of service, transfer policy of ReTs, clear cut transfer policy of teachers, master and lectures etc., promotion as lectures in different steams out of 50 % quota through DPC, promotion of Masters as Head Masters and release of Mid Day meal Grants in time.
