The Kelsey Smith murder case was national news after she was kidnapped from an area Target store and found dead four days later. All of the evidence in the case was pointing towards Edwin Hall as the perpetrator of the crime, including Kelsey Smith’s DNA found on the inside of zipper flap on the shorts Edwin Hall wore the night of Smith’s disappearance.
Kelsey Smith was a popular student who had graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School 10 days before she was kidnapped. 17 of her peers were at the court hearing today, all wearing blue shirts that said "Kelsey’s Army."
Edwin Hall faces life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of Kelsey Smith. For the other crimes he admitted two today, he faces dozens more years of jail time.
