Egyptian Skulls Buried in England

LONDON, UK (groundreport) – Two ancient Egyptian skulls found in a yard in England have been taken back to Egypt.

Investigators said Tuesday that the conundrum of how the skulls got from Egypt to England has been resolved.

Homeowner Matthew McClelland found the first skull while gardening at his home in the northern city of Manchester last year. When authorities arrived at the site, and they discovered a second skull.

An Oxford University analysis found that the skulls were approximately 2,000 years old.

The skulls are thought to have been buried in the yard by Carl Bracey, a doctor who was the previous owner of McClelland’s home. The house was sold two years before the skulls were discovered.

Bracey revealed that he bought the skulls on a family trip to Egypt.

Manchester police said Tuesday that no criminal charges are expected to be charged and the skulls were repatriated to Egypt.

Analysts say tomb raiders may have unearthed the artifacts.
