Eight European Countries to Be Sent to the European Court of Justice

The European Commission decided to send eight EU member states to the European Court of Justice for not recognizing diplomas obtained in Bulgaria and Romania. These countries are Austria, Cyprus, Belgium, France, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg and Spain countries which were supposed to change their legislation once Bulgaria and Romania joined the EU, the Romanian public radio informs.

Starting last year, European Commission officials sent two warning letters to each country but none of them complied with the requirements. The European executive argues that Romanians and Bulgarians are discriminated against when they wish to obtain a job or continue their studies.
