‘Eighteen persons were killed and 50 others injured in a bomb explosion at Marriate Hotel Islamabad on Saturday. A 14 feet deep hole was made at the spot of explosion, which took place in a explosive laden car parked in parking area of the hotel. The hotel building was damaged immensely. The news was received from sources and Voice of America’s Urdu news bulletin.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gailani had revealed on Sunday that ambassador of Czechoslovakia and 52 other persons were killed in suicide bomb attack on Marriott hotel Islamabad. According to news paper reports Danish ambassador is also missing.
According to official sources, 10 militants were killed in Bajure Agency in ongoing security forces operation and in a suicide bomb attack on security forces convoy near Meer Ali area of North Waziristan. Six persons including three security forces men were killed when suicide bomber had rammed his explosive laden car into a security forces convoy and blew himself up with explosives. The convoy was heading towards Miranshah from Meer Ali. Five injured security forces men were admitted in a hospital in Bannu.
