Now all I need is for my head to not explode before they call it.  That’s the hardest one.

It is the Sunday morning before Election Day and I’m all butterflies and tiny smiles.  Not complacent, not at all.  Nervous, cautiously optimistic, I’m looking forward to spending the day watching TV, making videos, going around town to see people voting and talk to them (if they will let me).  Talking again to the children in my life about why it’s important, not only to me but to them.

This president will probably be in office until my daughter is 18.  My children have never known any other administration than that of Bush 43.  My son was 5 weeks old on 9/11.  As amazing a change as I hope is coming, for them it is even more momentous.  Their whole lives have been affected by the policies and decisions of the current administration.  And they know it.  When my son was younger, he would even blame the weather on Bush.  I know for a fact that the year we didn’t have fireworks on the 4th of July, it was “George Bush’s fault.”

Yes, they are the children of a rabid Progressive Liberal.  But I don’t tell them how to think.  I lay out the reality.  And reality has a well-known Liberal bias, don’tcha know?

I’m going to try to keep it together until they call the race.  But every time I think about it, really think about it, I start to get choked up and, yes, my eyes well up, too.  I can’t go there yet, but I have hope that I will in a couple of days.  And I don’t think I will be alone.
