ECP preparation completed for 18th Feb election.
CHITRAL: Election Commission of Pakistan Chitral is ready for 18th February election. In this regard all ballot box have been dispatched to different polling stations. In this connection some 206 polling stations have been arranged 120 at PF-89 while 86 at PF-90 as there is only one seat of national assembly from Chitral. Similarly some 636 polling Booths have been fixed 291 for female while 345 for male voters. Total number of registered voters is 197022 out of them there are 107804 male voters while 89218 female voters. Some 2100 government officials have been assigned duty to conduct the polling process. As a whole Chitral is a very peaceful district hence District Police Officer has declared 25 polling stations sensitive. Meanwhile DPO Chitral under article 118/122 of the Police Order has banned carrying of all type of arms, ammunition and other explosive items in polling stations.
Meanwhile judicial staff performing extra duty during the each election but they are not compensating source told to this scribe. “We some 25 staff perform extra duty at our offices during election processes since 1977 but we were never given extra remuneration nor were we compensated “an official told on the condition of anonymity. They demanded from the high ups for compensation and extra honoraria to these staff.
Police officers promoted.
The following police officials were promoted from Sub Inspector to Inspector post who assumed charges of their offices. Those who were promoted are Khalid Khan SHO Police Station Chitral, Tariq Karim Police line and Mir Sawat Khan SHO police station Torkoh.
General Secretary of Legal Aid Forum for Human Rights Chitral Niaz Ali Shah and other office bearers felicitated police officers on their promotion and hoped that they will serve the nation with more enthusiasm
