Election Commission of Pakistan is still indecisive regarding the polling date of elections which were to be held on 8th of January 2008 but are likely to be postponed due to tragic martyrdom of Muhtarima Benazir Bhutto leader of Pakistan People Party Parliamentarian, a private TV channel Dawn has speculated that polling will be held on 11th of February 2008.
Mr. Kanwar Dilshad of Pakistan Election Commission is of the opinion that after consultations with all the political parties new date of polling day will be announced.
Meanwhile debate over real cause of death of Muhtarima Benazir Bhutto is gaining momentum, a female leader of PPPP Fauzia Behram has said that she has wrapped the dead body of Muhtarima Benazir Bhutto in Coffin cloth and she was having bullet wounds on her body, Mr. Javed Cheema Secretary of Interior Ministry is still insisting that her death was caused by head injury which she has received on her head from sunroof of her car.
Mr. Asif Ali Zardari spouse of Muhtarima Benazir Bhutto and Co Chairman of PPPP has said that her sister is a doctor and she has also checked the dead body of Muhtarima Benzir Bhutto she was having bullet wounds on it.
On Thursday 24-12-2007 Muhtarima Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in Liaqat Bagh Rawalpindi where she had addressed a rally and was coming out in her car from the park, she had appeared by opening sunroof of her car to respond to the crowd shouting slogans in her favor, in a film released by interior ministry of Pakistan it can be seen that a miscreant holding a gun in his hand got near to her car and shot three bullets, bullet shots were followed by huge explosion, twenty workers of PPPP were also killed among 27 injured five were the journalists.
Spouse of Muhtarima Benazir Bhutto is of the opinion that there is no need of delay and polling shall be held on 8th of January 2008, PPPP leadership says that government is using delaying tactics to save Muslim League (Q) from defeat.
