Electoral observer reviews arrangements of Revision of Electoral Rolls

Leh October 18(Scoop News) – The  Electoral Roll Observer for Distt Leh and Kargil, Vinod Kaul  today reviewed the arrangements regarding Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls 2012-13 of 47-Leh and 48- Nubra Assembly segments at Leh Conference hall. The meeting was also attended by, Election Training Observer for Ladkah region, Jigmet Takpa, ADC, Leh Tsering Murup, Electoral Registration Officer, Leh Tashi Dolma, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Khaltsi and Nyoma, Tehsildar/ AEROs of Khaltsi and Nubra.

 

The Electoral Roll Observer, Vinod Kaul while reviewing the latest position of Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls 2012-13 of Leh and Nubra Assembly segments inquired in detail from concerned EROs and AEROs about the uploading/ scanning of forms received during Special Summary Revision on website, current EPIC coverage in the district, latest additions/deletions of voters and number of submitted queries by individuals though Form No. 6, 7, 8 and 8A etc.

 

The EROs and AEROs of Leh Distt while giving their respective statistics report in the meeting requested the Electoral Roll Observer, Vinod Kaul to increase the honorariums of BLOs of Leh distt considering the difficult working conditions in the region with vastly scattered villages. Giving reasons for poor coverage of EPIC in rural areas due to lack  of Photo Lab facilities in rural areas  they urged Vinod Kaul  to provide Cameras to the BLOs so that they could take photographs of voters in rural areas  for  100 %  EPIC coverage.

 

 

Earlier, in a separate meeting with political parties of Leh distt, areas Vinod Kaul urged all the political parities of Leh distt to activate their units in rural to make general pubic aware about the importance of casting votes and  support BLOs in Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls 2012-13.

 

The meeting was attended by President BJP, Leh Dr. Sonam Dawa, President BSP, Leh Punchok Tundup, President PDP, Leh Tashi Gyaltson, Nazir Ahmad BJP and Dorjey Wangchuk BJP. The parties commonly raised the issue of spelling mistake of Ladakhi names and DOB in the EPIC even after corrected attempts and asked to sort a permanent solution for it.
