Match My Email works by pinging your email account and looking in the INBOX and Sent folders for new emails. New emails are then automatically uploaded to the Match My Email cloud at Amazon Web Services for processing. The app looks for email addresses in the emails that match to email addresses in Salesforce. When a match is found, a copy of the email is uploaded into that record in Salesforce, fully automatically, day and night, rain and shine.
Emails are stored in Activity History just like they are using the ‘Outlook for Salesforce’ manual tool. Attachments are stored in Notes and Attachments.
