Srinagar, October 19 (Scoop News) – Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Wednesday said that enhancement of employ ability of youth through wide-ranging skills development programmes is receiving considerable fillip to expand job market reach for them.
“We have focused on tackling unemployment crisis through a multi-pronged strategy where under raising of employability of youth is on priority”, he said adding that besides creating maximum possible jobs in government sector, endeavours are on to upgrade the skills of youth ensuring their absorption in open market.

Speaking to various deputations at his Wednesday Public Mulakat here, the Chief Minister said that his Government has also sanctioned 23 new Degree Collages where modern subjects would be made part of the curricula for widening the job spectrum for the youth.
“While my Government is concentrating on consolidation in health and education sectors, it is paying due attention for universalizing medicare and educational facilities in the State. Our endeavour is to make people across the State accessible to these facilities”, he said adding that the placement of proper faculties and necessary paraphernalia in institutions is also on priority list.
Omar Abdullah said imparting technical education to youth through a network of industrial training institutes and polytechnics is imperative to ensure their job security and provide them a level field to prove their mettle and achieve new heights in the field of science and technology. He asked the youth to get best advantage of the packages and programmes launched by his Government for large scale skills development in the State.
The Chief Minister said that his Government flags unemployment crisis as one of the top most concerns and devotes fullest attention to defuse it through various measures. He said new trends in the education are being introduced and modern concepts nurtured to produce a young educated generation of young educated persons capable of competing at all levels and making their mark in the open job market.
The Chief Minister said that universalization of health care facilities across the State especially keeping these within the reach of people in far-flung and remote areas is also looming large in the State’s health cover strategy. He said at one hand primary health care service is being expanded across the State and on the other secondary and territory medical facilities are upgraded in the government hospitals. “We are concentrating on placing required doctors and para-medical staff in the health institutions to improve the service delivery”, he added.
To a deputation of Saffron Growers of Pampore, the Chief Minister said that launch of Saffron Mission in the State would infuse new strength in this trade and open vistas of economic activities for youth. He said cultivation of cash crops has always been a profitable venture and

The deputations of various Associations including Kashmir Doctors’ Aassociation, J&K Lecturers’ Forum, Save Rafiabad Movement and representatives of traders, fruit growers, vegetable vendors and shopkeepers in their interactions presented memoranda of the demands to the Chief Minister pertaining to the welfare of the sections they represents.
Hundreds of individuals also availed the opportunities of ‘Public Mulakat’ to present their personal requests to the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister gave patient hearing to all the deputations and individuals and issued on the spot directions regarding the cases of urgent public importance while others were marked to the concerned quarters for early necessary action.
