Srinagar, September 22 (Scoop News) – MLA Langate Er Rashid has brought two resolutions for upcoming Assembly session commencing from 1st of Oct 2012.
The first resolution is regarding withdrawing of all FIRs against the youth, Who have been allegedly accused of pelting stones and other charges from 2008 onwards during anti-India demonstrations and protests.
Er Rasheed has said that though chief minister has reiterated his will to withdraw all these FIRs but from innocent kids to college students, youths are being harassed by the concerned police stations in connection with the said FIRs.
He has said that govt. needs to ensure that all these FIRs are taken back without imposing any pre conditions. The second resolution seeks that control of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and Muslim Waqaf Board be handed over to well reputed, locals from the two said communities. He said that giving control of SASB to local Kashmiri pandits is a legal and moral obligation.
He said that non-locals members of the SASB do not have any idea of the cultural, moral, geographical and regional sensitiveness of the state which often makes Shri Amarnath Yatra controversial. MLA Langate has said that keeping in view the special status of Jammu & Kashmir it is need of the hour to handover the control of the said board to local Kashmiri Pandits which will give them sense of belonging and self-confidence and which is their fundamental right as well. Similarly Muslim Waqaf Board should be made an apolitical institution as it does not belong to any political party or family or any individual. Er Rasheed said that the move will help in ensuring that resources and assets of Waqaf Board belonging to Muslim community are utilized in a real transparent way for the betterment of Muslim community. He appealed all the political parties especially NC and PDP to vote in favour of his resolutions if they have any concern towards the people of the state.
