Popular host of ESPN SportsNation, Michelle Beadle likes to relax when she is away from the studio in Bristol and she does that at home with her dogs, her boyfriend and some technology. Beadle is most knowledgeable about sports, but unless there is a reason, you won’t find any of the HDTVs in her home tuned in 24/7 to the four-letter network.
“SportsNation only makes an appearance on our televisions if my mom is visiting or my boyfriend is really bored,” offers up Beadle, who has been at ESPN almost seven years. “I’m in a constant game of playing catchup with the DVR. I’m currently watching Walking Dead, Empire, Nashville, John Oliver, Bob’s Burgers and anything that starts with “The Unauthorized Story of” on Lifetime.”
Beadle, a fan of the website, Homes.com, makes sure her home isn’t decorated like a man cave or what one would expect a sports anchor’s place to look like.
“As I look around this place, it has become clear that you would never know a sports anchor lives here. The only real giveaway is an enormous abstract San Antonio Spurs painting that was gifted to me by the team last year. Other than that, most of my autographed memorabilia is in storage and all jerseys are shelved. If anything, it looks like a crazy dog woman who really loves shoes lives here.”
When away from dishing out sports opinions, Beadle’s live is pretty much dominated by dogs.
“You can never have too many closets or too many dogs… (There is) Leroy Jenkins, a pug and king of the house; Violet, a 65 pound Plott Hound mix who exhibits many qualities of a traditional American teenager; Henry, a springer mix we rescued from Tijuana by way of Marina del Rey who is still deciding whether or not he’s scared of every single thing on the planet; and finally, Stella, the newest addition, a Jack Russell something or other who conned us all by showing up one day and making us love her.”
Beadle’s California pad is bright and very friendly, just like her.
“A lot of wood, metal and color; masculine and bright,” states the University of Texas at San Antonio grad. “(It’s) inviting and ideal for long weekends of doing absolutely nothing.”
Well, maybe not absolutely nothing, Beadle is a sucker for ordering food from her favorite restaurants and having it delivered right to her door and yes, she’s a fan of the EAT24 app.
“I love just being at home. Sweatpants, dirty hair, the EAT24 app active, and nowhere to be. And I like to sing. I’m horrible, but I love it.”
Beadle just didn’t stumble upon this new home, and she says that a site and app like Homes.com can help those intimidated by real estate and shopping for a new home.
“While looking for a home out here, I really checked out as many neighborhoods as I could. Just like living in New York City, each area has its own style and vibe. I knew I liked the idea of a more chill environment, but with all the perks and ease of the city close by. I also wanted to find something that felt like a home immediately, and that would prevent me from spending hours in the car each day to and from work. When I walked into this place, both my mom and I just knew.”
Using Home.com is the perfect way to not only search through new listings, but also check rentals, foreclosures, home values and even mortgages.
When asked to finish the sentence: “For me, home represents…”
Beadle replied: “Peace and happiness.”
