GMG Airline’s Plane tyre got puntured in the taxiway due to excessive heat. It was Dhaka – Calcutta flight. The flight landed safely at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport at Calcutta around 8 am. The rear wheels of the aircraft burst while it was taxiing down the runway "C".
It was a fifty seater aircraft with forty nine passenger on board. There was a loud bang caused by the bursting of the tyre and the pilot stopped the aircraft immediately. The rear end of the aircraft dipped down & the aircraft leaned backward.
There were no casulties but the passengers were extremely shocked. As the pilot stopped the aircraft immediately there was no chance of any mishap.
The plane was carrying a spare wheel but as two wheel burst another one has to be brought from Bangladesh. The second wheel arrived from Bangladesh in Biman Bangladesh flight.
The aircraft blocked the taxiway for more than an hour and crane were used to tow it to the parking bay. The return flight took off at around 12:30 pm.
