Despite repeated assurarances by the
employees and the district police, the exodus
of migrants is continuing after the incidents of
December 3 and 4. This was followed by a
voilent clash between the police and the
radical Sikhs on December 05, when the
radical Sikhs protested against the granting
of permission to the Jagran of Divya Jyoti
Jagriti Sansthan of Ashutosh, on which one
sikh, Darshan Singh was killed as a result of
police firing.
On the whole both the sides will suffer. Being
a agricultural and most cultivated area of
India, farmers will be handicapped without the
labourers from other states; and; and the
labourers from outside will suffer fro
likelihood of loosing their already meagre
income.
