Expect much floods this year-metrological experts
The metrological department of Malawi, Southern Africa has warned people living in low lying areas that there will experience much floods this year which may lead to loss of life and property.
The department is therefore advising people living in the Shire-Zambizi basin to move to high areas to avoid loss of life.
Just like South East Asia floods have devastated much areas in Southern Africa, particularly those living in the Rift Valley areas.
Last year many people died and property worth millions of dollars was destroyed.
Many people are refusing to move to high areas because of superstitions.
They claim that the spirits of their fathers would harm them if they move because they will be deserted.
