Extension of present road criticized people urged on separate by pass road

 

CHITRAL:  A protest rally was held by members of Town Power committee who working for restoration of power and up gradation of local hydro power station. Later on they gathered at PIA square which was converted into a public meeting under the chair of Khan Hayatullah Khan President of power committee. Addressing on the occasion the speakers urged on chairman wapda Shakeel Durrani to fulfill his promise of up-gradation of local hydro power house from 600 KV to 2 Megawatt. The speakers also lamented longest load shedding by Pesco Chitral and emphasized on line staff to discourage 24 hours breakdown. They also lamented increasing of utility bill for water by water and sanitation unit Chitral which is running with the financial support of Germany fund but they increasing their monthly bill frequently. The speakers also demanded from provincial Chief Minister for intervention in By pass road and to not convert it in road expansion. They said that communication and works department Chitral extending the present road instead of a separate by pass road as a result more than 250 shops would be demolished and thousands of people would be jobless. They demanded from the chief minister to direct the C&W department to obey his directions as he already announced for Khan Abdul Wali Khan by pass road not for extending of present road. They also demanded for providing of machineries and equipment to women and children hospital Jang Bazar Chitral because patients facing great problems in their treatment and they compel to approach private X-ray machines and laboratories because these facilities are not available in the children and women hospital. Later on the public meeting was disbursed peacefully.
