A plant that had been extinct for more than 100 years found in eastern Australia.
Primary Industries minister of South Wales Ian Macdonald said that the plant belongs to foxglove family.The botanical name of the plant is Euphrasia Aurguta. A forest worker in Nudle state forest found Euphrasia Aurguta. The plant was seen last in 1904.
“In botanical terms, this is really a blast from the past. The discovery is central to aim of ensuring that we look after the flora and fauna in their forest ”the minister said.
Official are planning for a conservation plan for the plant.
