Set in protest continues against slow work at Sheshi power project at Drosh.
CHITRAL: Residents of Drosh area have been set in a protest at main Peshawar Chitral road against longest unscheduled load shedding and slow work on Sheshi Power house that is under construction for the last three years. The Sheshi Power project (SPP) is constructing by Sarhad Hydro Development Organization (SHYDO) but it was not completed in its simulated period of time. As well as longest blackout have nuisance lives of inhabitants of Drosh and business circle badly affecting. These anger protesters leading by Qari Jamal Abdul Nasir comprising over representatives of political parties and councilors set in a protest. Talking to this scribe Qari Jamal Nasir said that our protest will be continue and numbers ob protesters would be increased day by day. They demanding for early completion of Sheshi Power house to settle problem of power supply to Drosh area. It is worth to mention here that there was a small hydropower house of 300 KV at Drosh constructed by SHYDO but it was closed last year due to no proper maintenace as a result the area plunged into dark. While on the other hand electricity supply from national grid station is not regular and consumer of Drosh are badly suffering. Inhabitants of Drosh now have set in protest and announced for continuation of their protest until fulfillment of their genuine demand.
Meanwhile people belonging to all walks of life have condemned Mahmoor of Bakarabad who is allegedly involved in women trafficking. The local people also alleged that he is selling innocent girls of young age (13-18 years) to old age people of down district and getting a huge amount from them in the pretext of marriage. Local people beat him as well as his face was painted by black spray by members of Unjumani Dawat Azeemat and was handed over to police after lodging FIR against him under women trafficking case. Hence local police also lodged cross FIR on the complaint of Mahmoor and arrested two members of Dawat Azeemat as a result hundred of students of different colleges, members of said NGO and trade union protest against arresting of two members of the NGO who were produced in civil court in a procession in presence of hundred of students. The anger protesters also chanted slogan against police and demanded for action against administration and posting out of DPO. Local police refused to provide any information while they were contacted by this correspondent.
