Face-off

It’s now becoming clear that the US Presidential Election this coming Nov. 2008 would be a battle of two different characters, the celebrity backed Obama and the Vietnam War veteran John McCain. Pathetically, this year’s US election will bring new twist in the political landscape of America and to the rest of the world.

Obama is sure to win the Democratic nomination and would inevitably square off with McCain in what could be termed as the battle of champions. This Championship fight would become more intense because both are champions in their chosen fields.

The world is aware that Obama is known as the champion of “wide-open-door” diplomacy a. k. a. “appease the enemy” talk. He is also the hero of anti-war activists, ultra liberals, pro Chavez nerds, defenders of terrorists, hardened anti-Republican Hollywood celebrities and the most popular, the Demo-crowds.

The Vietnam War veteran John McCain is a champion in his own right. He commands no groups but shares his fellow Americans dreams of a stable and powerful United States of America. The face-off of the two political heavyweights is confined not only in the US mainland but the rest of the world. Any change in US leadership has its political and economic impact to the global village that looks to the US as partner in world’s peace and stability.
