When Zimbabwean political activist cum protest singer Viomak posted a story published by News24 about a new political party that is to launch in Zimbabwe by end of July for discussion on facebook, little did she know that she was to open a can of worms that would expose an aspiring Presidential candidate as a former jail bird.
The outspoken political activist who says like pastor Timothy Chiguvare she is also fed up with Zimbabwe’s Government of National Unity was thrilled to learn that a new political party will soon launch in Zimbabwe.
As the discussion proceeded one Zimbabwean DNM wrote that,
“I want to know more about this Chiguvare. There is a Chiguvare who conned ladies I used to work with at ZimAlloys Gweru between 1989/1991.The man was selling clothing materials .He collected deposits and disappeared and he looks like that man. Can he answer for himself.”
A second one WRZ wrote that,
“He is the one! Akabuda muHerald as well (He was published in the Herald as well). I was wondering why the name sounds so familiar. Thanx mate.”
A third one SD added that,
“Timothy Chiguvare was never imprisoned for political cause. The man has loads of frauds he committed. He once masqueraded as a judge. He currently face further charges. He fled Zim because of his criminal activities, am shocked when he became a Pastor, he is not telling the truth.”
DNM reiterated that,
“After reading the article I’m 100% sure he is the guy. He said he was coming from trade fair were he was displaying his goods etc furniture.He made an impression as he was immaculately dressed with a merc pulling a trailor loaded with goods. Vee make an effort to bring him to an audience were he has to answer. Another conman taking advantage of the suffering masses of Zimbabwe. He went to jail not because of political reasons but because imbivha (thief)!”
Armed with this information Viomak decided to seek clarification from the ambitious pastoral President after which she searched his name on the internet including facebook and contacted him through emails that she came across.
After pasting the comments to him the activist asked the budding President if he was the one referred to in the comments after which he responded in an email quoted below,
“PPP" Peopl’s Progressive Party wish to acknowledge reciept of your e-mail dated the 30th day of May2010 of which we have forwarded to out legal and intelligence personnel who deal with such e-mails.
"PPP" People’s Progressive Party would lilke to place it on record that: *such malicious and highly prejudicial e-mails are a blessing to our President because such e-mail provoke God’s direction (touch not my anointed)*

Viomak confirmed that someone has since confided in her that he shared the same prison cell with Timothy Chiguvare at Harare Remand prison in 1997 when the person was being charged of aiding a certain man to topple the Government.
Viomak also confirmed that she has given the story to some interested journalists so that they investigate the circumstances that allegedly found pastor Timothy Chiguvare in a prison cell.
On his facebook page pastor Timothy Chiguvare writes that,
“People’s Progressive Party (PPP) is the only African Political party that give financial assistance to its members (Zimbabwean nationals) in the event of death. Beneficiary in the 1st world will get £1000 and Beneficiary in the 3rd world will be given R10 000 from the party. Membership cards are now available with a yearly subscription of £25 (1st world) and R30 (3rd world).”
In a wide ranging interview with News 24 the aspiring Presidential candidate confirmed that he is geared to face the challenge to oust President Robert Mugabe and his Zanu-PF party. He also explained that he is the voice for the oppressed and his party was launched in South Africa in 2008.
According to the interview the party which was launched as Christians for Peace, Justice and Democracy and in 2009 it changed its name to People’s Progressive Party so as to accommodate non Christians.
Pastor Timothy Chiguvare added that the party has a membership of 3.5 million and he is ready to face the challenges in Zimbabwe squarely and honestly and they are planning a big launch in Zimbabwe before the end of July.
This is not the first time pastor Chiguvare has indicated that he will launch his political party in Zimbabwe. On 22 December 2008 the Sowetan published an article where he was quoted saying his political party was to be launched in Zimbabwe early next month, meaning January 2010.

I have since been cleared on the above false ; malicious or defamatory allegations which had been manufactured by lady who is unknown to me , whose name is Viola Makande whose photograph is attached (herewith) below . I was a victim of Zanu PF’s propaganda or campaign of calumny , Viola Makande was hired by Zanu PF and paid a small amount of money just to do that dirty work for them , I don’t even know her and have never met her and even herself she has never met me and she doesn’t even know me but she had the audacity or courage to take money and allowed herself to be used as an instrument or lethal weapon
designed exclusively for the personal and political use for the purpose of destroying me . The same lady has been running a fake business in the United Kingdom called Human Rights Defender Viomak.Soon after this attack by this hired lady my attorneys hired a United Kingdom advocate or QC who also engaged private investigators . I was however forced to institute a civil and criminal litigation against Viola Makande only to find that she was already in big trouble facing a number of criminal and civil cases.
