Recently, The Governor of Jammu and Kashmir N N Vohra asked the kitchen operators community for the langar services to be arranged during the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra 2013. The 3880 meter annual yatra of the holy shrine of Amarnath located in South Kashmir Himalayas is one of the most popular and holy pilgrims of Hindu devotees.
While discussions regarding the Amarnath Yatra Langar arrangements with the four member delegation of the representative of Shri Amarnath Yatra Barfani Langar, Vohra said, “The Langar service, at each of the identified places, should be ensured to operate till the conclusion of the pilgrimage, to avoid any inconvenience to the Yatris.”
Vohra further added that must be provided to the pilgrims according to the food menu provided by the expert committee. It is mandatory for SABLO to ensure food according to the prescribed by the committee. The nutritional requirements need to be taken care of as pilgrims need to climb high altitudes and tough climatic conditions.
The governor also added, “All the stakeholders need to work together to ensure that the pilgrims enjoy a very good Yatra and go back with happy memories about the arrangements.”
He also stresses on the issues of Langar hygiene and premise during the entire Yatra period. The governor has launched the SABLO website during the occasion so that pilgrims easy access all the significant information related to Yatra easily.
