FAIZ CENTENARY 2011
Unity for Peace and Social Justice to make the world a better place for all
Come, we too should raise our hands (in supplication)
For world peace, and for the prosperity of its people
2011 has been declared as the Faiz Centenary year. Hundreds of events will be taking place throughout the world. The Faiz Centenary National Organising Committee in Britain is organising events in over ten cities.
The Manchester Co-ordination Committee is organising an event in the city to pay our tribute to Faiz Ahmed Faiz, one the most prominent poet from Pakistan. In addition to colossal contributions to poetry, Faiz also played an important role in journalism and trade union movement.
We have invited prominent poets, journalists and political activists to share their thoughts. Faiz remains a symbol for all of us in our struggle for peace, democracy and social justice.
We cordially invite all peace-loving and progressive people to attend the event.
