Srinagar, February 12 (Scoop News) –Police today busted a module of 5-persons involved in deceiving people in the name of fake Charitable trust.
Giving details of the incident, Dr. Shailendra Mishra- IPS, Sub Divisional Police Officer, West Zone, Srinagar,said that a group of 5-persons comprising of Athar Andrabi, Ravi Sharma, Mohammad Ayoub Kanth, Surjeet Singh and a lady (name withheld) have established a Trust in the name & style of Taskeen Charitable Trust, near Aehli Hadees Masjid Nowgam some months before, and had collected Rs 1000/= each from a good number of gullible persons, on the pretext, that they will be paid Rs 300/= per month, till life, after depositing the said amount. After collecting a large amount of money, the group had fled away to Jammu recently.
Following the complaints, Police immediately swung into action and a party under the supervision of SDPO West Srinagar (Dr. Shailendra Mishra-IPS) with the assistance of SHO Nowgam proceeded to Jammu to apprehend the culprits. The sustained efforts of the team led to the arrest of all five accused persons. In this context, a Case FIR No. 26/2012 U/S 420, 467 RPC stands registered in the Police Station Nowgam besides Police has approached the concerned authorities for blocking the website of the said Trust. The said Trust had also opened offices at various other places like Pulwama, Rajouri, Jammu etc. Some more arrests are expected.
Meanwhile, Police has appealed the general public not to fall prey of false appearances and such kind of juicy offers being provided by different agencies to lure gullible persons and in case they have any knowledge about such module, they have been asked to share any such information Police.
