Falcao Out Of Sudamericana Return Leg

The Colombian international will not be present for River Plate’s all-or-nothing clash against Arsenal at El Monumental for the Copa Sudamericana semifinals.

River will miss their leading scorer and catalyst this season due to international duty. He must report to Bogota to join the Colombian national team on Wednesday as they get ready to host Venezuela and Argentina at El Campín for matchdays 3 and 4 of World Cup Qualifiers for South Africa 2010.

Appeals were made to have Falcao available for that match, but were rejected. FIFA regulations require that a player be released four days prior to the qualifying match be played. Colombia will play Venezuela on Saturday.
