Father raped daughter for 2 yrs

A day after the Supreme Court said  no leniency should be shown to rapist father, the Lucknow police arrested one Rajendra Prasad Dwiwedi, 43, for allegedly drugging and raping his 16-year-old daughter for almost two years. The incident came to light on Tuesday when the girl, a resident of Barora Hussainbari, narrated her plight to her uncle, Mr Laxmi Narain, who then took her to the Thakurganj police station.

According to the victim, the father, Rajendra Prasad Dwiwedi, earlier worked as a taxi driver but three years ago, he gave up his job and became a ‘tantrik’ . “He used to harass my mother Meera who finally committed suicide about five years ago.  My father then married Rajni, my mother’s sister but he began harassing her too. I am the eldest of the six children and I looked after all my siblings after my mother’s death. About two years ago, my father gave me some sedatives and when I fell unconscious, he raped me. After this, whenever I protested, he would turn violent,” the girl told the police. Rajendra Prasad Dwiwedi was arrested on Tuesday evening. However, he claimed that he was being falsely implicated in the case
