Jammu, March 18, (Scoop News)-The frustrated and desperate Congress and National Conference (NC) leaders are vitiating the election scene in Jammu province in their bid to deflect the people’s attention away from the real issues by unleashing a divisive and despicable campaign, but the politically conscious people will defeat their nasty game plan by voting in large numbers and with enthusiasm for the BJP in the upcoming general election. This was stated here today by Prof Hari Om, Political Advisor to BJP State President Jugal Kishore Sharma and party candidate for the Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency, while reacting to the nature of poll campaign unleashed by the Congress and the NC.
“The divisive, anti-people and anti-democratic parties like the Congress and the NC are only misleading the people by terming the BJP a communal formation. The BJP, unlike the Congress and the NC, doesn’t discriminate between people on any ground and believes in the cardinal principle of justice. It believes in and advocates justice for all, without any exception. It, unlike the Congress and the NC, doesn’t discriminate between communities as it considers the nation first. The BJP practices politics of development, stands for the unity and integrity of India, respects all constitutional institutions, despises divisive and communal demands ranging from greater autonomy to self-rule to the 1975 Indira-Sheikh Abdullah Accord to revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) to withdrawal of Army from the state, stands for equal treatment to all the regions of the state, citizenship rights for the West Pakistan refugees and social and communal harmony,” said Prof Hari Om, and added that the Congress and the NC cannot fool the people of Jammu province any longer as they already stand thoroughly exposed in their eyes.
The Congress and the NC have never allowed democracy to flower in the state and have all along subverted democratic processes to capture political power and retain control over it, Prof Hari Om also said, adding that the emergence of the separatist movement in Kashmir in the late 1980s was the direct outcome of the 1986 unholy power-sharing Rajiv Gandhi-Farooq Abdullah Accord. Had Rajiv Gandhi and Farooq Abdullah not entered into this accord and allowed the people of Kashmir in 1987 to elect persons of their choice to the Assembly, the situation in the Valley today would have been peaceful. “It was the wholesale rigging of the 1987 Assembly elections that converted the people’s anger against the Congress and the NC into an anti-India anger and the nation has been paying through its nose ever since then for the act of political dishonesty committed by the Congress and the NC for the sake of loaves and fishes of office,” he bemoaned, and asserted that these parties continue to play divisive and dirty politics instead of learning from the past mistakes.
