It is now official, Deborah Jeane Palfrey, who is known as the notorious “DC Madam,” was found guilty by a federal jury on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. As the guilty verdict was read to her, all Palfrey could do was let out a sigh. Prosecutors have charged Palfrey for running a service that caters hookers to the political elite of Washington DC. The prosecutors in the case said that Palfrey’s business would cater to the political elite ranging from representatives, senators, and so forth.
However, Palfrey has consistently denied that her escort service was a front for servicing men with prostitutes. She adds that if it did happen, it happened without her knowing. The main reason this case became somewhat of a hot topic back in 2007 was due to announcing that she would sell phone records to any new outlets willing to give the highest bidder.
On all charges, Palfrey was found guilty.
“When a man agrees to pay $250 for 90 minutes with a woman, what do most men expect in that time?” Daniel Butler, the prosecutor asked during Monday’s closing arguments. He added: “In that context, it’s pretty clear. Most men want sex.”
So far, none of the big names had given testimony. While Palfrey’s sentencing is set for July 24, prosecutors have urged the judge to put her in jail immediately.
If there are any new names that emerge, this could possibly effect the general presidential elections this fall. On a humorous note, that woman’s old enough to be my mother.
