It proved to be another scary day for Roger Federer as he was 2 sets down to the 20th seeded Tomas Berdych. It was looking like another major upset but the former champion came back strongly as he won the next three sets to win over Berdych with a score line of 4-6, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2. Berdych played brilliantly in the first two sets but it was Federer who showed his skills and proved his worth as we eventually won the game.
The victory set up a quarterfinal matchup with eighth-seeded Argentine Juan Martin del Potro, who defeated 19th seed Marin Cilic of Croatia, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2.
