Jubail Saudi Arabia
TGIF! This particularly reverberates very well for Filipino Overseas Workers in Saudi Arabia, particularly in Jubail, whose favorite past time was going to the beach to relax and ease their boredom on Fridays. But not the officers and members of the Filipino Community in Jubail (FILCOM Jubail) who went to Abu Hadriyah instead with the Medical Mission at the camp of ARCC-EEI.
It was indeed a very good and kind gesture on the part of Al-Mana Hospital through their Directress Elma Calfoforo who supported FILCOM Jubail’s Mission and Vision to serve by providing 7 benevolent Nurses led by Mr. Benjie Mutya and Restie Mar who saw the mission through to its successful completion. The event coincided also with the Bankers Tennis Association (BTA) and Jubail Bahar Tennis Association dual meet whose players also benefited from the Medical Mission services. In turn, the JuBTA players supported FILCOM’s membership drive by signing in for membership. It was a coup d’ grace for FILCOM, like hitting two birds with one stone.
Some members of FILCOM were adamant on accompanying this Medical Mission as the place was so far and it is already outside the city proper. And yet, they came at the request of FILCOM President Elmer Reyes for their support and were so glad to be a part of this successful event.
FILCOM, JuBTA, and BTA were very thankful to ARCC-EEI Management for their gracious accommodation. ARCC-EEI’s Mr. Joey Rosal emphasized during his discussion with the FILCOM officers, notably VP External Mr. Adel Merino and Social Services Chairman Mr. Alfred Garcia, the need for FILCOM’s support in requesting a special Embassy on Wheels at the ARCC-EEI compound to cater to the consular needs of the 5,000 strong Filipino workers at the compound. FILCOM’s support was positively conveyed by no less than the President Mr. Elmer Reyes to Mr. Joey Rosal and assured continuing communication and coordination with ARCC-EEI on this matter.
Farah Grace Garcia, and Carmi Peronilla Nurses from RC Hospital , says that they could have availed of thier services as well had they knew beforehand of the Medical Mission. They promised to arrange thier schedule for the next FILCOM Jubail Medical Mission and membership drive.
FILCOM Jubail looks forward to bringing the Medical Missions to the different Camps in Jubail to serve the Filipinos working here at the Industrial Plants.
Filcom Jubail also extend their appreciations for the support of Sangkay Organization of its activities in the area
