FIve Britons and one Canadian pilot died in a plane crash in Northern Malawi on Saturday,it has been learned.
Air traffic control officials and Police in Malawi say the exact cause of the accident is not known saying the plane crashed between the historic plateau of Livingstonia and Rumphi dIstrict.
According to air traffic officials in Malawi ,the plane belonged to Nyika Tours, a compnay which won concessions to run Nyika National Park.
Sources in Rumphi say the plane crashed at Vungani Hills .All the five bodies of the Britons and one canadian pilot have been found at the site of the crash.
Sources from the District Commissioners Office in Rumphi say the crash happened at 5p.m on Saturday.
AS the story was being compiled ,details of the five Britons and one Canadian had not been released by the Police.
This is the second accident this year. Early this year, another plane crashed in Central Malawi killing all people on board.It belonged to a foreign company hired by Padin officials who are mining Uranium in Northern Malawi.
