Five new advisers (Ministers) have joined in Bangladeshi cabinet today (9 December). The swearing -in ceremony for new advisers have taken place at 6:30 pm. Newly joined advisers are former attorney general AF Hasan Arif, NGO leader Rasheda K chowdhary, Economist Hossain Jillur Rahman, former secretary AMM Shawkat Ali and retired major general Golam Quader. President Dr. Iajuddin Ahmed inducts them as adviser at a simple ceremony at Bangabhaban (President House).
Rasheda K Chowdhary was the chief executive of the Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE), a large NGO network of the country. AF Hasan Arif worked under the four-party coalition government as attorney general since Oct 14, 2001 before he resigned on April 26, 2005. Major general Golam Qader was the military secretary for the president Economist Hossain Zillur Rahman was senior research fellow of research organization Bangladesh institute of development studies (BIDS). He was performing as the chairperson of PPRS before appointed as an adviser. AMM Shawkat Ali retired from civil service as secretary.
Earlier law adviser Mainul Hossain, health adviser ASM Matiur Rahman, power and food adviser Tapan Chowdhury and industry adviser Geeteara Safiya Choudhury quit the Fakhruddin administration on 8 December. Cultural affairs adviser Ayub Quadri has resigned his post on Dec 26.
Army backed caretaker government, lead by chief adviser Dr. Fakaruddin Ahmed is going to celebrate one year of there power 11 January.
