Srinagar/Jammu, September 04, (Scoop News)- As communicated by PHE & irrigation & flood the situation in respect Flood situation in the State AT 6 pm on Thursday.
Jhelum crossed 30.7 feet at Sangam which is 7 ft above danger mark of 23 feet.
Low lying areas in districts of Anantnag, Pulwama, Budgam Srinagar inundated.
Jhelum touched 21.8 feet level against danger level of 18 ft at Ram Munshi Bagh.
Total discharge in Jhelum at 70,000 cusecs against normal of 25000 cusecs.
A breach on Jhelum occurred at Kandizal in Budgam area affecting 70000 population but which has stabilized flood level at 21.8 feet at Ram Munshi Bagh in Srinagar for the last 4-5 hours
60 percent water supply schemes, i.e. about 533 water supply schemes disrupted in the valley. worst affected districts are Kulgam, Baramulla, Shopian and Anantnag.
All nallahs, namely, Lidder, Veshav, Rambiara, Feroz flowing above danger mark and have inundated and damaged areas along their banks affecting about 70 villages in these areas.
Flood control rooms activated.
In Kashmir division, 7.68 lakh sand bags provided and stand utilized for flood control in the valley. a ready stock of 4.12 lakh sabd bags available.
In Jammu division, flash floods have affected the almost the whole division.worst affected district is Poonch where all flood protection (fp) works on nallah Suran damaged, approaches of main Poonch bridge damaged.
In jammu existing fp works on right and left bank of river Chenab & river tawi damaged. in district Kathua fp works on nallah Bhini damaged.
Chenab flowing at 38 ft which is 4 ft above danger mark of 34 feet. discharge 2.75 lakh cusecs.
Tawi flowing at 13.5 ft against danger mark of 17 ft with discharge of 92000 cusecs.
UJH overflowing with 45000 cusecs
Damages being assessed. control rooms activated.
Rescue and relief operations have been launched.
