Peshawar: the bakers in Peshawar raised the rate of bread as the four crisis started to deepen in the N.W.F.P and its metropolis.
The wholesale price of the 20 Kg bag, which was selling for Rs470, in the first week of Ramadan jumped to Rs660, and in the outskirts of the city the retail price is Rs700.
Meanwhile, the bakers in the city unofficially raised the prices and selling the 210-gm bread for 10Rs instead of its official rate 8Rs.
Moreover, some bakers have closed their shops and the people in Ramadan are facing great difficulties in finding breads and long queues have been seen in front of the bakeries and the flour shops in Peshawar city.
