Footsteps of Pain

Poetry From The Heart

I walk through this arid desert
Heaven emits a powerful light
sears everything in its sight
my footsteps waver.

Each footstep brings fluid to my eyes
a desire to give-in and expire…
my strength, will and endurance is dire
life seems worthless and time short.

A fierce storm arrives
cleanses and cools my soul
mends doubts and agonies
allows me to touch God’s hand
rising up to live daily in His light.

God grants survival in the midst of storms
He may not respond as desired
but, He’ll answer what’s best for us
never fear…God will answer our needs.
