For Kashmir interruptions India warns Obama
India – New Delhi: India warned US president Barack Obama for the disputed territory of Kashmir. India says he is "barking up the wrong tree", The Barack Obama new US president was in danger of brings up unclear Clinton-era nuclear strategies in an effort to improve tie s between the nuclear armed neighbors’.
India’s national security adviser MK Narayanan said, "I do think that we could make President Obama understand, if he does nurse any such view, that he is barking up the wrong tree. I think Kashmir today has become one of the quieter and safer places in this part of the world,"
"It’s possible that at this time there are elements, -perhaps in the administration who are harking back to the pre-2000 era."
The warning came for President Obama’s special envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke, prepared to visit the Kashmir region. MK Narayanan said, "References made by President Obama, which seem to suggest that there is some kind of link with settlement on Pakistan’s western border and the Kashmir issue certainly have caused concern,"
The new US administration’s decision to drop India from formal inclusion in Mr Richard Holbrooke’s Mr Obama’s special envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan mandate reflected these sensitivities.
