‘Forbes’ magazine has released the latest list of ‘World billionaires 2008’, in which 4 Indians have figured in the list of top ten.
According to the latest list Bill Gates has been relegated to the third postion from the first position, which goes to Warren Buffet with $ 62 Billions,the second place goes to the Mexican family, Carlos Slim Helu & Family with $ 60 Billions,the third postion goes to Bill Gates with $ 58 billions,the 4 th, 5 th and 6 th postions goes to the steel gaint Lakshmi Mittal ,Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani, all Indians with respective assets estimated at $ 45, $43 and $ 42 billions respectively.the 7 th position goes to the Swedish family,Ingvar Kamprad & family with $ 31 billions, the 8 th position goes to again to an Indian,K.P.Singh, with $ 30 billions, the 9 th th position goes to Oleg Deripaska of Russia, with $ 28 billions, the 10 th place goes toa German, Karl Albrecht with $ 27 billions.
It is significant to note that among the top ten billionaires, 4 Indians find place and India continues to be the top source of billionaries list with 53 billionaires including the four billionaires in the top ten and their combined wealth aggregates to $ 340.9 billions.The billionairs list consists of 1,125 people with a combined wealth of $ 4.4 trillion.A year ago there were just 179 billionaires which has soared to 1,125 in the year 2008.
