Forest Department and Health Department Punjab have evolved a joint strategy to plant trees on under utilized land of hospitals, basic and rural health centers across the province and Forest department Punjab would provide free of cost saplings and technical assistance to health departments regarding plantation.
The Minister Forestry and Fisheries, Pir Saad Ahsanuddin while giving details of this plan informed that Forest department would volunteer all technical support in terms of selection of sites and species and health department staff would plant these saplings with the assistance of forest department. Minister forest told that representatives of the forest department would visit these units to provide any assistance on regular basis and health department would provide an update on an annual basis about the state of these Trees to forest department.
The Minister forest and fisheries said that provision of a healthy and pollution free atmosphere to the patients and his worried family goes a long way in reducing the stress they are undergoing and plantation at basic health units, rural health centers, tehsil and district complexes would help achieve this purpose.
