On Saturday night when Emmit Thomas was famed with hall of fame, he paid his ultimate tribute to his grand father.
Emmitt Thomas asked Hall of fame to address him as Emmitt Earl Fyles Thomas.The hall of fame heard his voice.
Emmitt says that he was in this position because of his grand parents. His mother’s died when he was 8 and his father died in an auto accident when he was 12.
Emmitt Thomas’s grandfather raised him. According to him, his grandfather told him stories of baseball, boxing event and other sports activities when he was young. He taught him about honor, commitment, love, religion, hard work and respect. Emmitt also said that his grandfather inspired him and made him a brilliant athlete.
Thomas is the eighth Kansas City Chief to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He joins Bobby Bell, Buck Buchanan, Len Dawson, Lamar Hunt, Willie Lanier, Jan Stenurud and Hank Strank.
Emmitt Earl Thomas was born on June 3 1943. He is a former college and professional football player who played for the American Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs from 1966 to 1969, and then for the Chiefs in the NFL from 1970 to 1978. Thomas is one of the thirteen players elected as Hall of fame
