Former Land Reform Minsiter Matrika Yadav said he would lead the campaign to grab land for the homeless and the landless.
Speaking at a program in Bara district, he urged the homeless and the landless to grab land from landlords who occupy land but never use it for farming purposes.
He also criticized the home minister for removing the homeless people from their huts erected on the land of royal family members, who later transferred their ownership to a local leader in Siraha district.
Maoist Prime Minister Prachanda made Yadav resign a week ago when Yadav defended his action of recapturing the land seized by the police in Siraha.
Yadav thanked the landless people for courageously seizing the land that belonged to former King Gyanendra’s elder sister Shanti Singh in Simara-2 of Bara district. He warned that there might be another war by the homeless and the landless.
Yadav is a Maoist leader against whom the Maoist leadership has decided to take action.
Nepal has not been able to distribute farming land scientifically to its people. The land law remains non-implemented to a greater extent.
