Four left in fray in Leh, Ladakh

Leh,April 23, (Scoop News)- Today on the last day of withdrawal of nomination papers, four candidates withdrew their nomination papers.
AS such four candidates are in the fray for the Ladakh Parliamentary seat which includes Thupstan Chhewang (BJP), Tsering Samphel (INC), Ghulam Raza and Sayed Mohammad Kazim, both independents.
Later, in the afternoon a +meeting was convened by RO, Leh, Simrandeep Singh with the contesting party representatives in which he handed over the confirmed party election symbols which includes standard national party symbols of Congress and BJP, Kettle for Sayed Mohammad Kasim and Cup &Saucer for Ghulam Raza, both independent candidates.
Besides, they were given the election candidate folders carrying documents pertaining to elections, a breasting them of the MCC and expenditure guidelines as set by the Election Commission of India. The appointment and duties of polling agents were also explained in detail and made it clear that no govt. employee or anyone getting funded by state govt. is allowed to be appointed as a polling agent.
The General Observer, Naveen Mahajan was also present on the occasion.
