Peshawar: At lease four persons have been wounded in a fresh fighting between the Pakistani police and the militants in Badarshi village of Nowshehra district Thursday morning.
Two policemen and one armed militant were among the wounded, sources told.
According to Nowshehra police chief, the militants were traveling in a vehicle when the police signaled them to stop for checking in Nowshehra Cantt check post. They did not stop their vehicle on which the police chased them, he added.
The militants, after reaching Badarshi village, entered a home adjacent to the village’s mosque and took refuge in the home, the police officer commented.
The village residents told that there was a one hour fierce fighting between the militants and the police during which two policemen and one civilian got wounded and one wounded militant was captured by the police. Other militants successfully broke out the police cordon, added village residents.
The wounded militant has been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.
