France Pissed At Los Pumas?

This was surprising to see.

If there was something called posterboard material this is all that the Pumas needed. The Argentine media yucked it up and has become their rally cry prior to their semifinal matchup against the Springboks Saturday night in the friendly confines of Saint-Denis.

French daily Le Figaro published an online poll asking who will win the WIlliam Webb Ellis trophy. The options were the home side, the defending champ (England), and South Africa.

What about Argentina? Oh, they’re doing fine… thanks for asking.

This is ironic as Los Pumas beat England at Twickenham, France in the opening match of the tournament and gave South Africa all they could handle at Ellis Park.

¨It must be because we beat them down to the ground in their own park,¨ said by Argentine sports daily Olé.

Besides sports both at the local level and internationally, I will be covering the Super Tuesday proceedings in Connecticut, which suddenly turned into a swing state here in New England. So check me out here as well as in my blog.
