Addressing students, the Minister said that Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru had a great love and affection with the children, so he was called Chacha Nehru by the children. He further said that Ist Prime Minister of India was not only a great statesman, politician, historian and writer but he is being treated an architect of the modern India.

Peerzada Sayeed said that our State is very backward particularly literary ratio of the State is very low in comparison to other States. He said the Government has taken a number of steps by launching many schemes like midday meals to increase the literary ratio in the State. He said that it is very unfortunate that some disgruntled elements were bent upon to disrupt the precious academic career of the students, who ignored the consequence and bad repercussions. He said, however, by the grace of God, all the schools particularly in the rural areas remained open and there was about 90 percent attendance in rural areas. He congratulated the parents, teachers and students for coop eating with the Government and saving the precious academic year of the students and thwarted the nefarious designs of the disgruntled elements.
Peerzada appealed to the people to keep education sector away from any controversy for the benefit of the student community.
He further said the Government is considering to restrict the winter vacations to one month from Class 9th 12th so the students academically benefited and are able to compete with students of the rest of the Country.
On this occasion, the Minister distributed 164 text book sets free of cost among the students from Ist Primary to 8th class.
