Adapting the rich culture and tradition of Nepal, Kate Wharton a British citizen and Alexandre Wahart a French citizen tied knots of marriage in a traditional Nepalese style here in Kathmandu, Nepal on November 20, 2008 at the Thamel House Restaurant. The duo got their paper certification of marriage few days ago from France and came to Nepal to give existence to their marriage. Making around trip of Thamel, the duo enjoyed their celebration moving with the Panche baja towards the marriage venue on a rickshaw. The duo came here under a group of 16 members dental doctors team where they conducted dental camps of 2 days at different parts of the valley like Pharping, Bugamati, Jawalakhel Refugee camp and Tahachal from 9 to 16 November. Dressed up in the traditional wear, the groom was suited in Daura Surwal where the bridge was in a beautiful sari. After reaching the venue the priest executed various rituals of the traditional marriage. According to the bridge and groom, “Nepalese culture is very rich that stands firm for its high values and tradition unlike catholic culture which is very hypocrite. Since we visited Nepal and worked with Nepalese so we wanted to feel the culture and tradition from inside where marriage gave them a chance to know and be a part of Nepal and Nepalese society." "The experience was beautiful where we would cherish this for our whole life,” added the couple. Sunil Joshi, Manager of the Himalayan Dolpo Natural Trekking (P) Ltd said, “This is our first experience where we have tried to make it more rich and cultural as possible. Today the cultural tourism is booming where tourists want to feel the real culture and tradition. Moreover, this kind of events certainly helps them to feel and remember Nepal in a new and different way.” Anne Lelong, Director of the Himalayan Dolpo Natural Trekking (P) Ltd said, “It’s just the new way of celebration where the couple, they wanted it to be memorable for their lifetime. They are basically volunteers and living with the people in the Nepal where they felt like experiencing the real taste of culture, so they tied their knots in a traditional Nepali style.” “I believe Nepal stand potent for cultural tourism which is rich in its ethnic and traditional culture where people are more interested in being the part of the real Nepal,” added she.
