After a hurriedly convened meeting of the Indian Union cabinet, as already announced by the Prime Minister Mr.Manmohan Singh, the inevitable happened.The cabinet had no alternative but to announce the price hike of fuels in the wake of the heavy loss incurred by the petroleum companies The petroleum minister announced the fuel hikes of petrol, diesel and cooking gas as follows:Petrol: Rs 5/- per liter, Diesel :Rs 3/- per liter and the Cooking gas :Rs 50/- per cylinder.
