Gabriel Nathan Schwartz, a delegate to the Republican National Convention from Colorado, was robbed of $50,000 in personal items by a woman he picked up at a bar while at the Minneapolis convention. Schwartz is a founder and managing shareholder at the Denver firm Sandomire & Schwartz, Inc.
Schwartz said that he met a beautiful woman in a bar and took her to his hotel room. She poured him a drink and told him to get undressed. It all goes black after that says Schwartz who believes he was drugged by the woman. When he awoke, Schwartz was missing an estimated $50,000 in jewelry and accessories. "As a single man, I was flattered by the attention of a beautiful woman who introduced herself to me," Schwartz said. "If there is any good that can come from this humiliation, it is to caution others that date rape happens to men, too."
Earlier in the convention, Gabriel Nathan Schwartz gave an interview to LinkTV.org about his political stance as a Republican delegate. As you can see from the video below, the views he expressed are unnervingly belligerent. He starts the interview off answering the question "What is your vision for change under a John McCain adminstration?" by saying "Less taxes, more war."
Schwartz says that his responses in the video were made in jest and issued a statement that, in part, read, "When joking around with [LinkTV.org’s] so-called reporters, I thought the interview was a satire and didn’t take it seriously." Even if Gabriel Nathan Schwartz wasn’t duped out of $50,000 by a "beautiful" criminal, he would probably become known from his incendiary interview. Take a look:
