Jammu, December 21 (Scoop News) – The Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda today said that Gandhain philosophy has assumed more importance in the present times for eradicating hatred and non-tolerance.He stressed for spreading the Gandhian message of peace, harmony and brotherhood. Khoda was interacting with the members of Gandhi Global Foundation at Police Headquarters here this morning. He said that it is the need of hour to work together for promotion of peace which is imperative for overall development. He asked the group members of Global Foundation to act as ambassadors of
The Foundation had started the peace march from Kanyakumari on 17th October this year and will culminate on 30th January 2011 at Kanyakumari. The Group, after travelling a distance of more than 11,000 kms., will go across 18 States of the country. The Foundation presented National flag to the DGP which they carried during their travel from Kanyakumari. They also presented him Gandhian Seva Medal and a memento.

Later, the Group was flagged off by the DGP and other senior police officers from the Police Headquarters.

Gopal Reddy, Inspectors General of Police, Sheikh Owais Ahmed and Mohammad Amin Shah, DIG (Administration) PHQ, Alok Puri, DTP, A. S. Bali, SSsP, N. D. Wani, Ghulam Hassan Bhat and Ali Mohammad, AIG Firdous Iqbal and other police officers.
