A six-member gang, including three engineers, were arrested by Kalasipalyam police on Friday on charges of kidnap and two cars recovered from them. The modus operandi of the gang was to kidnap rich businessman, tie fake explosives to their waists and demand hefty ransoms. “Kiran and Bharath ran a consultancy firm and took money from young IT professionals after assuring them jobs in MNCs. When the job offers did not materialise, they devised the kidnap plan to repay the students,” a police officer said.
